Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born March 4th, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress, comedian, and writer. O'Hara has won a number of distinctions, including a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was made an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement award. She first came to the attention of an actor in the year 1974 when she was an actor in The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Together with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the main casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began working on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984) and she earned the attention of critics for both her work as a comedic actress and as a writer, securing an award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for the Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
